The next West Community Forum is on Tuesday

The District Council website describes it as follows:

Do You Live in the Hullbridge, Rayleigh and Rawreth Areas? Have your say at Community Forums

If you could ask any question you want, about anything, to any of your local public bodies, what would it be? Whether it?s about the Police, the Health Service or your local Council, they will all be under one roof on Tuesday, 13th March at the Civic Suite, Hockley Road, Rayleigh SS6 8EB from 7.30pm and ready to answer your questions.
_
If you want to know about how savings might affect services, what you think could be done better or what you think are the most important issues for the District in the future, this is your chance to ask your questions to the people that can make a difference to your community.
_
Among the representatives that have confirmed they are attending on March 13th are senior figures from Essex Police, Essex County Council, Rochford District Council, the local Parish Councils, SEPT (South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust) and South East Essex Primary Care Trust.
_
The West Community Forums are aimed at answering questions from those who live in Hullbridge, Rayleigh and Rawreth.
_
The broad theme of the meeting is ?Community Health and Safety?, however you can raise any issue on any subject you like.

  • Probably a bit late now but can I be the only On Line reader who is enduring the daily grind trying to get from the A1245 onto the A127 ? Since the Sadlers Farm “improvements” have been underway the junction at Fairglen is at total gridlock most days. If ever a junction needed yellow no enter boxes it’s that one. Heeeeeelp!!!

  • But on a positive note, it brings a wry smile to my face when I see the roadworks / delays signs referring to the ‘Rayleigh Spur’ – who decided to call it ‘Fairglen’ in the first place?
Not sure why it makes me feel good – maybe it just seems to get one up on the busybodies that decided on a new name 🙂

  • This junction was designed incorrectly, the “feeder lane” from the northbound A1245 onto the westbound A127 should have been built into the A130 fly-over that crosses the A127 further west.

As it stands there are 3 lanes merging down to 1 lane on the slip road which unsurprisingly causes gridlock on the roundabout. For the last 2 weeks I’ve avoided the A127 on my journey home, opting for a longer route through the lanes, and have now started using the A129 through Wickford in the mornings.
