Good news for Rayleigh North, Downhall & Rawreth and the rest of the Rochford District!

County and District Councillor James Newport told onlineFOCUS

“I’m happy to have worked with Cllr Michael Hoy – Hullbridge Ward and others to finally see this happen here in Rayleigh. It’s much needed and I would urge you to share this far and wide to get as many responses as possible.”

A public consultation is underway on a proposal to establish a 100-place Special Educational Needs School on the Wolsey Park development in Rayleigh from Spring 2026. This will serve pupils aged between 3 and 19 years-old who have Severe Learning Difficulties.

The consultation document can be viewed at the following address:

Essex County Council is seeking views from all interested persons about what is proposed. Time slots have been arranged to provide an opportunity for parents and members of the local community to ask questions and comment on the proposal, via telephone appointments. These will be available between the hours of 2-4pm and again between 5-7pm on Wednesday, 20 March 2024. Slots must be booked in advance by emailing senstrategy@essex.gov.uk

The closing date for receipt of comments on the proposal will be 4 April 2024
