Essex County Council has released this press announcement in which it states that all the streetlights that it is responsible for will be upgraded to the new LED type by the end of January.
While we welcome the upgrade to the new energy-efficient lighting, residents are still concerned about the length of time that it is taking ECC to repair broken street lighting which is a safety concern for many. We’re not sure why areas identified with broken lamps aren’t prioritised and have contacted ECC about this, so far, without a response.
