The focus team have been out to audit Rayleigh’s High Street for broken streetlights. As of today, there is a whopping 17 lights that don’t work. Essex Highways are failing to repair them and this isn’t unique to Rayleigh’s High Street. Across the district, there are huge numbers of broken street lights waiting for an upgrade to LED.
How long residents will have to wait is unknown as it would appear that Essex highways don’t have a rollout plan to share with Councillors or the paying public.
