After two very close semi finals the four finalists in this new competition are Downhall, Our Lady of Ransom, Rayleigh County Primary and Hullbridge Riverside. The standard of answers was exceptionally high and every pupil a credit to their school. The level of sportsmanship was exceptional at both meetings. How many readers of this website would know the capital cities of Peru. Bolivia, Outer Mongolia and Burkino Faso? One young lady did….

The final will be held at Rayleigh Baptist Church at 1.30 on Monday 22nd. All parents are welcome to attend but are asked to sit separately from the pupils and the supervising staff.

The trophy will be presented to the winners but returned for engraving, and be finally presented again at the Annual Town Meeting along with the winners cheque for ?100 kindly donated by the Chamber of Trade. There will also be a trophy awarded for the best individual performance, with currently four possible winners.

  • Attended the semi-final at Grovewood school last week and can honestly say that all taking part did fantastically well.
    Congrats to the finalists and the organisers too.

  • Final won by Our Lady of Ransom and well deserved . Pupils scored consistently in all rounds and 16 pupils were in the team the maximun allowed.
