Heavy Snow, Light Attendance?

District Council meetings can’t take place unless at least one quarter of councillors on that committee turn up.

So for tonight’s meeting of the Development Control Committee we need at least 10 councillors present.

Normally there’s loads more of us that that , but:

– the BBC are forecasting heavy snow for Rayleigh at 1800 hrs.
– for some councillors, it’s the third or fourth meeting of the week.
-the only items on the agenda are in one ward – Rochford.

It should be OK.

UPDATE : 9:10 PM. It didn’t begin snowing until the meeting began, and there was a reasonable attendance – 24 councillors present. ( 5 out of 5 Lib Dems. 19 out of 33 Conservatives). And the application from Disability Essex was refused.
