We’ve mentioned a couple of times about the Job Clubs that have recently started at St Nicholas Church Rawreth.
There’s one problem – they didn’t start with any funding , and the running costs – including heating the church building – will be about ?1000 per annum.
Rawreth Parish Council have just made an initial donation of ?100, which is reasonably generous, bearing in mind that the Parish Council has a very small budget, and very probably most of the club users will be from outside the village.
Maybe some other organisations or companies might like to make a donation as well?
We are very grateful to Rawreth Parish Council for this grant. And, yes, other donors would be most welcome!
We are pleased to be underway with the clubs – last week, in particular, we were busy, so there is clearly a need…
Our key member – who is a senior recruitment professional by day, and gifting her time to the club by night – will, this week, be having conversations with JobCentrePlus, the Benefits Agency and the Citizens’ Advice Bureaux, to get our flyers out and get the job clubs more widely known.
She will also be using her natural charm and diplomacy to approach EoN and suggest that they may wish to form a partnership with us to help mitigate some of the damaging impact of their decision to make so many redundant in our locality….

Rayleigh Boys can advertise the club on our website and we can use our connections to get other organisations we deal with to do likewise.If you need help distributing flyers we can help you with that as well.

I agree about EON I would have thought donating the money was the least they could do due to the amount of custom they will be putting your way through their actions.
