The West Area Committee meets next Thursday 4th March in Rawreth Village Hall. The public are very welcome – you get a free hot drink and can speak during much of the meeting.

The main items are:

(1) Essex County Council Integrated Youth Service
? Presentation by Mark Hughes, Area Manager South, and representatives from Rochford District Youth Council, followed by questions and answers.
(2) Update from Lisa Jeffreys, Leisure & Cultural Services Manager, on a proposal for a temporary teen shelter in Sweyne Park, Rayleigh.
(3) Update by Chief Inspector Glen Westley on Crime and Disorder in Rawreth and Rayleigh. Crime and Disorder statistics attached.
(4) Update from Richard Evans, Head of Environmental Services, on local air quality management in West Rayleigh.

You can download the documents for the meeting here.

But residents can ask questions about almost anything in Rayleigh and Rawreth.

We hope people will come along…..

  • I’m sure the flooding at Rawreth will no doubt provoke interest but not sure that ‘residents’ views being listened to’ has ver been a strong point of area meetings! Has the council undertaken any market research to establish residents’ views on the meetings?

  • OPPOSE THIS TEEN SHELTER ON THE 4TH MARCH – The agenda item mentions an update – this had better not be a done deal. This must be properly debated and local residents given the opportunity to voice their concerns and opposition to this madcap scheme.
