  • A triumph for the Rayleigh Town Council and everyone else involved, I think.

Great to see so many people – young and old- crowding the High Street. One shopkeeper told me there was barely a spare square inch of floorspace in her shop sometimes, there were so many people coming in.

One typical response from a resident was “We need more events like this in Rayleigh”. That might be a strain on the Town Council’s resources, but they are gradually building things up year by year, perhaps the Family Fun day could be expanded a bit…..

  • I have to agree the event was great last night. We go every year and I have never seen it so packed.(possibly in danger of becoming too popular as in some parts you couldn’t move which is not great if you have small children)

Glad to see that the Children’s lucky dip/ have a go stalls were on the whole more reasonably priced with better prizes this year, although I must say there were still a couple that were overpriced with the inevitable toy that doesn’t work when you get it home!!

Well done to all involved in organising it.

  • I think that everyone involved in organising this event done a brilliant job, everyone was happy even if it was a bit crowded ! Just goes to show that Rayleigh should make more of an effort to do more things like this in the future, there are one of 2 things that I think they event lacked that could of made it that little bit better.

At the top end of the high street there was no chriostmas music, so no atmosphere to get anyone in the spirit.

I think it would of been nice to have a bit of a christmas market going up bellingham lane and arouns the mill hall with all food stalls ect ect for people to ahve a look round.

It would also of been nice to have those people that done an event in Rayleigh about 2 years ago when we had bouncing kanagaroos ect ect wandering round although I must say it was nice to see the stilt walker.
