Our Lib Dem colleagues Chris and June Lumley get mentioned in the Yellow Advertiser this week:
RESIDENTS have sent council chiefs a message – sort out the dog fouling problem.
A Rochford District Council survey revealed almost 700 respondents are concerned about increasing quantities of dog mess.
The survey was filled out by 1,400 people in July last year, but the details were released this week.
The ‘How Clean Are Our Streets’ survey also showed 66 per cent of locals believe the council is not dealing with fouling adequately.
Councillor Chris Lumbley (Lib), member of the Grange ward, said: “Dog fouling is so severe here that locals are putting reminders on their front gates.
“I have had numerous calls from constituents about this problem.
“Catching culprits seems impossible – they strike at night.”
Mr Lumbley, who has two labradors, urged dog walkers to take plastic bags out with them to clear up after their pets
We need a dog warden!
