PROPOSAL Construct Three Storey Mixed Use Building Comprising Three x Commercial Units (Use Classes A1, A2, A3, A5, D1 and B1(a) ) and Twenty Four Affordable Residential Units.
Further to my previous letter, an Inspector has now been appointed by the Secretary of State to determine this appeal and the Hearing will be held in the Room 5 At The Civic Suite, Hockley Road, Rayleigh, Essex on 2nd March 2010 at 10:00 am.The appellants? grounds of appeal and the Council?s reasons for refusal are available for inspection at the Council Offices, South Street, Rochford. Pre-Hearing statements and future comments will be available for inspection nearer the Hearing date.
You may attend the Hearing and at the Inspector?s discretion, give your views.
A copy of the decision letter on the appeal will be sent only to those who request one in writing, or who speak at the Inquiry.
Am I been cynical but how many ordinary residents will be able to attend a meeting at 10:00am on a Tuesday? I’ll be at work so unfortunately I will not be able to attend the hearing. I sincerely hope that the Council manage to get the design of this monstrosity changed to something more fitting and in keeping with other residential buildings on Priory Chase/Rawreth Lane. The current design is industrial and will do nothing to encourage it’s future “social” residents to have any civic pride in their environment which is very likely to increase the anti-social issues that local residents already endure!
Well, I would expect the hearing to last for a whole day – I’m afraid that just like court cases, planning appeals normally take place in normal working hours….. I will be booking a days holiday.
