Congrats to Akitas Judo . At the Rayleigh Leisure Centre next Saturday they will be presented with a Bronze ClubMark which is an initiative run by the BJA (British Judo Association) and Sport England.
To quote from the BJA website:
The British Judo Association Club Recognition scheme is a new initiative that is being introduced to recognise and reward examples of good practice within clubs that are promoting and delivering Judo. It will also spread best practice in management and coaching across the country. …
This is a huge step in allowing parents, carers and sports professionals to recognise an accredited club through a common branding regardless of the sport. It is important that clubs try and achieve the Clubmark through the BJA Recognition Scheme, as it will provide many benefits including:* Promoting your club
* Having a recognised standard
* Increasing your membership
* Developing coaches
* Developing volunteers
Well done.
Mark Francois, Dave Sperring. Ron and myself were kindly invited by Akitas to attend the presentation and it was a really enjoyable event. There was a really friendly atmosphere and it was good to see the wide age range of the people taking part.
Afterwards us four politicans had a coffee and sandwich together and talked shop – mainly about Eon and the local economy.
