Last week our Lib Dem Group Leader Cllr James Newport, sought assurances from the Assistant Director that our refuse contractor had appropriate contingencies in place to deal with any fuel supply shortage. The Council was confident that the contractor had plans in place.
This week the Council has issued the following press release
Waste collection update for week commencing 27th September 2021
Due to the fuel shortages, we have had to make the following arrangements
Green waste bins – suspended until further notice We regret that we are cancelling the collection of compostable bins scheduled for this week, we will be unable to collect until the following week on the normal scheduled day.Refuse bins – possible delaysMissed bins
To ensure that we continue to keep our waste collections going, once the collection round has taken place in your road if any of your bins have not been emptied, we are unable to return until next available collection date.Bulky and WEEE collections – possible delaysBin deliveries and repairs – possible delays
