At this rate we could combine the big day with the Rayleigh Xmas lights switch on – 2007 or possibly 2008..
I see that having finally got the temporary traffic lights at the Asda junction removed last Wednesday, a new set of roadworks has now started in Rawreth Lane near Lubbards Close.
I hear that it is chaos there now, particularly if heading eastbound.
……. but a postbox has appeared inside Asda!!
ST1, I too was astounded by this. It must a policy to have a traffic jam along Raweth Lane at all times. Perhaps Chris Black can investigate.
This morning I’ve asked County Highways to confirm the reason for the latest roadworks and the likely completion date.
Also, on the Makro side of the Wimpey site, there is a police officer doing what appears to be a traffic count, with a stop watch in his hand.
Surely, with the traffic being held up in one direction then all able to pass in one go, this will result in inaccurate readings? He’s going to have some readings showing very busy and some readings with no traffic at all.
County Highways have sent a lengthy reply back to me, but I want to get their OK before quoting them. Watch this space….
