As at 8 pm tonight, much of the Essex Coast is under a “Flood Watch” warning from the Environment Agency.

This is the lowest level of flood warning , but still means “Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected. Be aware, be prepared, watch out!”

“Flood Watch” status for the Essex Coast isn’t particularly unusual – it’s already happened a couple of times from the start of September.

More up-to-the-minute information here from the Environment Agency .

The Echo reports on it here.
