To quote the BBC :
Vital gritting only over weekendMain roads in Essex are being prioritised for gritting because salt stocks are running low, the county council has said.
Police have warned drivers of “treacherous” conditions and urged people to only make necessary journeys….
…. The council said it will reduce gritting over the weekend to ensure roads get salt during the working week.
The roads that the County Council will be gritting over the weekend is shown here.
The BBC article quotes the County Council as saying that “Roads have been gritted for 23 consecutive days”. Maybe it’s time for people to start saying to the drivers – “Well done, Fellers” – it’s not easy work.
Is the Castle Road Fire Station still open?
No, the Castle road fire station transfered to rayleigh weir about 4 months ago.
Shouldn’t someone tell the County Council?
