One of the locations discussed at last week’s Rawreth Parish Council meeting is actually in Rayleigh – the Michelin’s Farm site , which is on the A1245 between the Carpenters Arms and Fairglen interchange, next to the railway line.

There was great concern about the amount of tyres stored next to the railway line. (and yes, Michelin’s Farm is it’s real name).

One councillor said that if those tyres caught fire, the main Liverpool Street – Southend Victoria line could be closed for days.

The District Council has already been carrying out planning enforcement work there, but now Rawreth PC have alerted them to the present danger.
