The House of Lords

Our MP for Rochford and Southend East, James Duddridge , has revealed that he’d like a completely unelected House of Lords:

“my preferred option ? to have an all appointed House – was rejected by 179 votes.”

Aren’t there ping pong matches already? Is that the whole point of having two houses?

“…Removing appointed peers also means removing a certain level of expertise which has proven to work well in the House of Lords. ”

Personally I would rather have an elected house with a level of expertise than an unelected one.
