Any pictures of the 100 or so outside who were denied the opportunity to hear what was going on?
Bruce – my wife and daughter were outside , they spoke to the ECHO people and the coverage will be in Monday’s edition of the Echo ( maybe the photos you want in it ?).
Bruce . There are pictures and also views of the corridors packed with people. I will see if someone can put them on here. I think it was more than a hundred. I think a few are on our FB along with lots of video clips of some Councillors proving it is time to hang up their boots because they are not up to speed. How can Cllr. Maddocks show his face again after making his comments about ‘what industrial unit will be left’. He is our local County Councillor and has been voting for this Local Plan. Didn’t Councillors hold site visits? They used to if you wanted to build a porch if it suited them this is to totally change this district for ever. Well done to Chris for holding his own under extremely unpleasant repeated questioning. One of my daughters, who understands these behaviour issues, was really cross at the attempt to harass and wrong foot him.
Thanks Linda the Council officials etc should be aware of the numbers involved and the disappointment felt. There could have been some unpleasant scenes but the Rayleigh public should great restraint. People would have been even more accepting if they had seen someone busting a gut to set up the Comm Room video link. Also well done to the young police officer for her calmness and the lady from the Council staff who had the job of placating the crowd and trying to fit everyone in that she could.owd and
