The Environment Agency has issued flood warnings for Hullbridge waterside properties and Wallasea and Foulness Islands.

As of 2100 hrs tonight There are no flood warnings for the Crouch from Creeksea to Battlesbridge and the Wakerings, Rochford and Potton Island.

The forecast is for a surge height 1.352 m – which means that the tide is expected to be about 135 cm higher than normal.

Hullbridge and Hockley Councillor Michael Hoy has written on Facebook:

Parts of Hullbridge have had a flood warning issued. The area affected includes the Dome and Hockley Park as well as Halcyon. These are all Park Home sites and particularly vulnerable if there is flooding.

  • Email from Hayley Bloomfield , the Rawreth Parish Clerk:

Thankfully last night the Parish came through the warning without incident, myself along with Members of the Council were on standby monitoring the situation until 2am when thankfully it became clear that water levels were dropping. We have another hide tide due at 2pm today, we have been placed back on Flood alert, however this has just been downgrading from the severe status we were on. Hopefully we will again come through the hide tide without any incidents but until we are clear both myself and all Members of the Council will be on call and on hand if needed.
