At a meeting of the Licencing and Appeals committee today, the proposal by the trade, to increase taxi fares (in some cases by up to 8%) stalled after the committee voted to refuse the proposal by a vote of 11 for refusal and 1 abstention.
Members of the committee raised concerns that the application wasn’t “backed up by adequate information” to support the proposed increase.
