There’s been a last-minute representation to the District Council, from another developer- telling us that there’s another application coming in on London Road:
From Barton Wilmore on behalf of Silver City Estates who own a 1.35ha parcel of land to the south of the application site within the Policy SER1 land allocation. It is anticipated that a full planning application would be submitted in February 2015 for residential development in the region of 45 to 50 dwellings on this site.
“We support the Countryside scheme in principle, but consider that recommended condition no.? which limits the Countryside site to no more than 500 dwellings is essential. This condition will satisfactorily ensure that other sites that also form part of allocation Policy SER1 (such as our client?s site) are not prejudiced by the Countryside scheme.
“
Here we go , the vultures are gathering over the pickings already – more traffic treated in isolation , no joined up thinking by the Amateurs at RDC and the beneficiaries ie: the Developers …….????
Has to be opposed on the same grounds ( Traffic / Flooding impacts ) and most important of all now with multiple sites ( 3 so far ) is that all highway Infrastructure
Improvements have completed prior to any construction works on site………….WHY ? :-
Initially large capacity plant & lorries moving spoil from the sites.
Large vehicles delivering Site Management buildings and facilities ( Portacabins ).
Large capacity vehicles delivering a progressively increasing range of materials to site
Labour to/from site in lorries/trucks/vans and cars ( probably 6 days a week ).
Utility Company labour & plant vehicles to/ from ( Electric-Gas-Water-Telecom- Drains
And let’s not forget plant/materials to construct a Bridge /Ponds / Swales etc;.
No doubt ECC Highways will take the easy way out again and say Rawreth Lane / London Road can cope – I say prove it , show us your calculations and reasoning in
In detail.
Chris , is there a link to RDC in order to lodge an objection – think this is overshadowed by the 500 and no comments are being lodged – tar JIM.
I dont think the application has been submitted yet Jim…
