Disturbing news this weekend from the Echo:

A MAN is in Southend Hospital with severe head injuries after an unprovoked attack in Rayleigh.

The 31-year-old victim was assaulted underneath the railway bridge, in Station Road, just after midnight on Saturday

Investigating officer Det con Gavin Wiseman from Southend CID, described the attack as “totally unprovoked”.

He is appealing for anyone with information about the attack to call him on 0300 333 4444.

Obviously, we hope that anyone with information will pass it on.
