Some residents have asked us what will happen next with Asda. As far as we can see, they have 3 options:
To carry on with an appeal on their first application. We think they will lose
Give up and let somebody else do something with the site- such as the Primary Care Trust
Come back with an application for a much smaller store- one of the smaller ‘Project Disco’ stores that they are apparently designing. We think this would get about 90 percent support from the public, and wouldn’t cause the planning problems that a big store would cause.
But do Asda have the common sense to do this?
