Have They Telephoned You?

The Black Household had a phone call last week from an opinion research company acting on behalf of the County Council. The company wanted to interview someone over the phone for about 15 minutes about traffic issues. When they found out that my son Alex was 18, they were really pleased, and particularly wanted to interview him – it seemed as if they were finding it hard to find the right quota of 18-24 year-olds to talk to.

So they arranged to phone back on Monday and interview Alex – but the whole procedure was stopped very quickly when they found out he was the son of a district councillor. Apparently they were told to exclude anyone in a councillor’s family…

Has anyone else had a call?

  • Only 15 minutes! I would hardly be getting warmed up in that amount of time.

I’d welcome the survey, and it’s got to be a better way of conducting research than the disasterous “traffic survey” on the A127 a few years back, that brought the southern part of the county to a standstill.

Mind you, whatever the results, I bet the only actions they can offer is more speed limit reductions.

  • Hi Chris

I received such a call last year. I explained that I was a Member of RDC and they insisted that I could and should contribute. So I did. Members of the County Council should be excluded.
