We’ve been emailed by a resident in one of the turnings off Down Hall Road, Rayleigh.
His wife has had all the wheel trims stolen from her car, while it was parked on her driveway.
Police have been informed.
So maybe it’s worth sticking your car in the garage if you can – and keep your eyes open for anyone acting suspiciously.
My sons bike was stolen from our back garden which is not easily visible unless you walked up my drive and looked over the gate, we live on the temple way estate. A few weeks later some ‘rag and bone’ men were fishing around a skip which was outside our house. I would have allowed them to take what they wanted if they hadn’t behaved like it was their divine right to do so. Just the way they acted was a bit of an indicator to their attitude to things which they saw as just laying around. My wife also mentioned she sees them often scouting around for odds and ends. Could be anyone what with the value of scrap metal at the moment and I have no proof other than coincidence.. but as you say be vigilant.
I also understand that the police have caught a man who was impersonating a car battery – he is being charged next week.
Please, no further jokes about crimes that have been committed…
