A lot of councillor’s work is just plugging away at small local issues. Our colleagues Chris and June Lumley have been concerned that some old CCTV cameras were being removed by the London Road shopping parade. Now they are campaigning for better street lighting there.
Chris says ?We accept that the existing CCTV is getting old, but just to take it away when the shopping parade is badly lit is not good enough. We wanted the existing cameras to stay until it could be properly be replaced or improved lighting installed. Now the cameras were removed anyway, we will keep pressing for additional lighting?
The Echo has now picked up on this story. Hopefully this will help their efforts to get the improvements…
