Another Email Hack

Back in May we mentioned that a local resident’s email account had been hacked by criminals.

We’ve heard of other cases since then, and unfortunately today Councillors Chris and June Lumley had their emails hacked.

All the people in their contacts list got the following message:

Hi,

Just writing to let you know about our trip to Madrid,Spain has been a mess. We were having a great time until last night when we got mugged and lost all my cash,credit card and cellphone It has been a scary experience, I was hit at the back of my neck with a club. Anyway, I’m still alive and that’s whats important. I’m financially strapped right now and need your help. I need you to loan me some funds , I’ll refund it to you as soon as I arrive home.Write me back so I can tell you how to get it to me.

Happily of course, this is a total hoax and Chris and June are safe at home. So please ignore it.

But less happily , they have lost all their emails and their contacts list. So if you have emailed Chris or June recently, and are expecting a reply, please wait two or three days and then please re-send it to them.
