The Rayleigh Chamber of Trade website has a copy of an Echo article about local developers being unhappy about having their planning applications refused:

Developers in Southend and Rochford say they are angry and frustrated at councillors who keep on ignoring professional advice and turning down their planning applications.

What a pity they couldn’t spell Howard’s name correctly!

Perhaps if local builders want to enhance their reputations they should compile a list of completed developments that they are proud of, and invite councillors to have a look.
