The Cabinet on the District Council is considering getting more involved in how big contracts are negotiated.

The recommendation is to change the rules so that:
the Executive should be consulted on the scheduling arrangements for all contracts over the European Union Contracting threshold (currently ?156,442 in value for supplies and services and ?3,927,260 for works).
Some people might be astonished that the apparently powerful cabinet isn’t already consulted by officers before large contracts are negotiated….
