Woolworths Flats Recommended For Refusal Due To uPVC

There’s an application to create four flats on the first floor of the old Woolworth’s building in Rayleigh High Street. (the ground floor is now the Italian restaurant Ask.

Overall, the planners seemed to like the proposal – decent size flats, making a good use of the internal space.

However, this is part of the Rayleigh Conservation area, and the flats were down for refusal due to the proposed use of uPVC for the windows.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to download the officers report from the council website (there’s some glitch?)
