New Reports On FixMyStreet

We are getting quite a few extra readers at the moment, so it’s worth reminding people about the website www.fixmystreet.com

It’s a national, independent website that is a good way of reporting things like potholes, broken streetlights or other local problems.

All you do is :

1. Enter a nearby GB postcode, or street name and area
2. Locate the problem on a map of the area
3. Enter details of the problem
4. They send it to the council on your behalf

We know that County Highways and the District Council will generally act after getting reports from FixmyStreet. But one of the cool things about it is that you don’t have to worry about which council is responsible – the website people look after that – so it’s useful for reporting problems away from home – like a pothole near your office, or the faulty streetlight near your auntie’s house….

You can also attach photos.

Here’s some recent local reports:

Potholes in Poynters Lane Great Wakering

And three potholes in Rochford – Pothole at the junction of Stilwells and the Stambridge Road, dangerous for bikes and pedestrians. , Deep pothole at the junction with Stambridge Road, just where pedestrians tend to cross and Return of Pothole – The repair to the pothole at the entrance to Lingfield, has broken up leaving a hazard for pedestrians
