“Club Night this month is about as far from gardening as you can get – we are holding an ‘Antiques Valuation Evening!
We did this last year and it proved very popular, although I don’t think anyone got to retire on the proceeds of something they found covered in dust in their attic.
Mark Stacey works for his family firm of Valuers and Auctioneers, Stacey’s, based in London Road, Leigh on Sea. Mark will value ONE item per person, whether a member of the Society or not. Admission to the evening is 50p for members and ?1 for non members, but we are requesting a donation of ?1 per item valued which will go to Little Havens.
Mark is very knowledgable, having done his training at Phillips and Christies in London. He also works behind the scenes on the TV programme ‘Flog it’, specialising in oriental ceramics. So if you’ve always wondered if that vase Aunty left you is as valuable as she said – now is the time to find out!”
