POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a road collision at Rayleigh in which a woman was critically injured.

Police were called at 10.55pm on Saturday 27 August 27 to A129 London Road, at the junction with Pearsons Avenue, Rayleigh after a report of a collision between a white Mercedes coach and a Ford KA. Fire and ambulance attended.
The driver of the KA, a woman in her 40s from the Hockley area was taken to Southend hospital with multiple injuries.
There were no passengers on the coach and the coach driver, a man from Brentwood, was uninjured.
The road was closed until 7.20am while police collision investigators carried out initial enquiries.
