Thousands of pounds donated to British Heart Foundation

The British Heart Foundation charity received two large donations today at a special presentation at their shop in Rayleigh High Street.
The first cheque, for ?3,050, was a donation following a year of fundraising by the former Chairman of Rochford District Council, Councillor Derrick Stansby.
Councillor Stansby sadly passed away in April and, as a tribute to her late husband, Mrs Doris Stansby presented the cheque to the British Heart Foundation.
On donating the cheque, Mrs Stansby said: ?Derrick was a supporter of the British Heart Foundation, himself having suffered from a heart condition.
I know that it was his hope that this donation would help towards research and helping others with the same condition.?
……At the same event, Essex Textiles also presented the British Heart Foundation with a cheque for ?1,000.
