Statement on Cherry Orchard Jubilee Country Park

Cherry Orchard Jubilee Country Park is one of Rochford District Councils most beautiful parks and is a unique recreational facility for residents and visitors to the area. The woodlands, lake, open grassland and network of connecting paths and bridleways also provide habitat for a huge range of animals and plants.

It has come to the Councils attention that rumours have been circulating that dog walkers and horse riders are going to be banned from this park.

The Council would like to take this opportunity to reassure residents and visitors that these rumours are completely untrue, the park is a community resource to be enjoyed by all. Dog owners are permitted to exercise their dogs in the park having regard for other users of the park and keeping their dog under control. Horse riders are permitted to use the bridle way that runs through part of the park.

However, we would also like to remind visitors to the park to respect the park and surrounding areas, as well as other park users.

Occasionally we do get complaints from park users, owners of the land that borders the park and owners of land that have public rights of way crossing them that connect our parks and woodlands regarding the inconsiderate behaviour of some visitors to the park.

Please help the Council to ensure that all these areas within the district remain well maintained environments that are accessible to all sections of the community
