Do you live in West Rayleigh? Have you been flooded in the past or worried about the flood risk to your property? Then come along to the West Rayleigh Flood Alleviation Scheme consultation on 19th October 5pm to 8pm at Sweyne Park School hosted by Essex County Council. It’s your chance to have a say on their proposals to reduce flood risk to YOUR homes and OUR area.

  • Have Essex done a “Rochford” and incorporated Rawreth into West Rayleigh ! I hope any improvement on flood defences in West Rayleigh do not affect those in Rawreth and Battlesbridge downstream ,and that these should include improvements in our Parish as has been promised over the years .We can but hope .

  • I live in Waltham Road, Rayleigh and today the 26th November I received your October newsletter so obviously those of us in this area have been unable to complete the online survey. How very dissappointing as it means we have been unable to put our concerns online for them to see.
Having lived in my home for 35 years have seen many changes in the area. Also how the many changes have caused congestion in certain areas at the slightest problem. Rawreth lane can be an absolute nightmare at rush hour anyway and now it can only get so much worse. London road is also very heavily congested most days and bearing mind the schools too it will be a nightmare for us to get in and out of Rayleigh. How very sad this makes me feel but as we know noone cares.

    • Hello Mrs Quick,
i am sorry our leaflet delivery to your home was delayed, we had so many thousands to deliver in our effort to keep people advised of these important matters (we would welcome local volunteers to help in this work). There will be other opportunities to have your input – i will try to keep you advised.
      best regards
