Well Done Guys !

5th Rayleigh Scouts, Cubs and Beavers joined forces on Wednesday evening for a litter pick at Sweyne Park. The weather was very kind to them and they picked up a good quantity of litter. It was part of their ?Scout Community Week? (Bob-a-job week to those of us who remember it!).

We publish these photos with the permission of the scout leader. (double click on the images to enlarge)

Great work guys – you are a credit to our town.

This also gives us a good opportunity to remind people about the Party In the Park this Sunday:

  • I recently reported to RDC that the grass is very overgrown at the edge of the park and Downhall Park Way, this is the reply that I received:

” I have spoken to our Parks and Open Spaces Officer who has informed me that the grass that borders Sweyne Park doesn’t form part of the public grass verges. It is classed as a ditch and will be cut when we do the ditches in the district at the end of the year.”

By the end of the year !!!! This is one cut back that we do need…..
