There will be no council election in Downhall or Rawreth this year. There was supposed to be a Town Council election in Downhall but the Liberal Democrats were the only party to put up candidates here – so Ron Oatham and Bruce Smart are elected unopposed!

Peggy Pearse is stepping down from the Town council after many years hard work – notably with the hanging baskets and the Christmas lights in Rayleigh High Street. We would like to thank her for all she’s done.
