A planning application for a mobile building at Landwick Gate on Foulness has been supported by the district council. The building is an extra security building for screening people.
But there was a bit of a clash between two Tory Councillors. Cllr Mavis Webster from Rayleigh was concerned about possible harm to badgers. In response, Cllr Michael Starke complained about delaying things on “spurious grounds”. Mrs Webster had spoken earlier in the meeting about Golden Eagles in California, and Cllr Starke looked like he heard more than enough about wildlife for one evening!
Anyway, this building is only 6 metres by 3 metres, so is hardly a big issue.
