Three issues in Downhall Park Way:

First of all, someone has suggested having yellow lines at the junction of Downhall Park Way with Rawreth Lane. These would be standard ‘junction protection’ lines simply to stop motorists parking too close to the junction. Any thoughts about that?

A second person has expressed their concern about the high speeds of a small number of cars in Downhall Park Way. We might be able to get temporary signs that flash when drivers exceed the limit. Again, do people have any thoughts about that?

Thirdly, we have asked County Highways to repaint the Give Way lines at the junctions of Downhall Park Way and Harberts Way.

  • You can put up Blackpool lights but I will not make a blind bit of difference. These morons already ignore the 30 mph limit, the only way is to successfully procecute those people responsible. Everyone knows who does it so why the police can’t catch them is beyond me. I am amazed that, given the proximity of the school and playground, there has not been a serious accident.

  • I think all 3 points made are valid –
    1. Clearly a hazard for incoming traffic that has to use wrong side of the road.
    2. The speed ( both ways ) at the bend on the Park Entrance is the high risk
area – made worse by the Muppet who continually parks on the yellow lines /
facing the wrong way. There has already been one night time excursion into
    the adjacent ditch last year.
    3. A no brainer , long overdue , cars should’nt park opposite Harberts Way .

1 & 3 are low cost , and 2 just needs a hearty fine as a deterrent ( the fine could
cover the cost of the other jobs????

  • Anybody taking photo’s in Rawreth Lane this week , Tree Cutting Traffic Lights at the Laburnum area ( tailbacks ) , and today Traffic Lights at Hambro junction ( Drains ) =
chaos , get used to it folks – 10 years of Construction Traffic if we don’t keep fighting it.

  • Yellow lines would be useful at junction, it is usually a problem at busy times, with traffic getting out of DPW and traffic coming in, it mostly seem to be vans parked there, I tend to keep left to turn into Rawreth Lane to travel towards Hambro to give any traffic room to pass.
Your picture shows the other end of Harbert’s Way Chris, its confusing as Harberts Way joins DPW at both ends. Its the junction 150 yards south of Durham Way which is the problem, this is the busiest junction off of DPW.
As for speed these light up signs that shout at you may be worth a try.
