I can’t find teh article now but I’m sure there was mention soemtime last year about the possible naming of teh alley which runs between the High Street and Webster’s Way. I notice that there is now an official RDC sigh stating that it is proposed that it be named “Ernie Lane” and giving details of how to object. Does anyone know the reasoning behind or origin of this name?
Ali,
It is possible that it is after Ernie Lane a gentleman who has done a tremendous amount of work to preserve Rayleigh’s history amongst other things.
