Laat weekend we reported on an accident at the junction of Downhall Park Way and Rawreth Lane. A lady had walked up to Asda to buy a lottery ticket. She was crossing Downhall Park Way on the way back when she was hit by a car turning right from Rawreth Lane.
We met up with the lady and her family yesterday. She is recuperating after suffering some very severe bruising and one or two fractures. We are very pleased to see that she is getting better, but obviously another accident here could be more serious.
The Echo did a story about this on Thursday; we will be seeing County Highways soon to see if we can get a pedestrian crossing here, or at least a pedestrian refuge and better lighting.
Her family are very grateful for the help provided by passers-by, the police and the hospital.
