Rochford District’s tenants have voted in favour of transferring the council housing stock over to a housing association.
The result of the postal ballot of tenants was announced today by the Electoral Reform Ballot Services who conducted the vote.
The details of the ballot result are as follows:
Tenants voting for the proposal: 1234 (82.8% of those who voted)
Tenants voting against the proposal: 257 (17.2 % of those who voted))
Spoilt /blank ballot papers 6
Total number of votes received: 1497 (78 % of eligible tenants)
This is a very clear-cut result and makes it extremely likely that the transfer will take place.
