There’s a report coming to one of the District Council committees next Tuesday night about the Stambridge Sewage Works. This is mainly to discuss the odours that come from the place, and what progress is being made in reducing them.

Anglian Water are currently carrying out ‘upgrades’ to the treatment equipment there and this work should be finished by June 1st this year. This includes such things as installing some kit to record measurements of Hydrogen Sulphide gas, and improving the treatment capacity of the odour control units.

A consultant is coming along to update councillors on what’s been happening, and it’s been suggested to councillors that we have should have another report on this next autumn, after the work has been finished.
