The application for the all-weather sports pitch was refused by 23 votes to 2 at the planning meeting on March 22nd. Cllr Mockford proposed refusal on the grounds of overlooking, Chris Black suggested adding noise nuisance as a second reading. Chris Lumley made a particularly good speech.
There were aboout 50 residents along to watch, and things got a little noisy. Most councillors who spoke agreed that the sports pitch would be very useful , but this wasn’t the right location for something of this size- Chris Black suggested the Park School site.
