There’s a new planning application (08/00626/FUL) for Rayleigh High Street. It’s to replace the phone kiosk near Clark’s shoe shop with a “Kiosk Combining Public Payphone Service and Bybox Locker ”
If you’re not sure what this kind of kiosk looks like , the application includes a picture of what it will look like – here.
And if you are wondering what a bybox is for, according to the planning application it’s a bank of lockers where goods that have been ordered via the net, email or phone can be delivered for the buyers to collect at their convenience.
As with all planning applications, district councillors will have to keep an open mind until the committee meeting.
