In Gloucestershire, County Councillors are allocated ?20,000 each to repair potholes in their area:

Gloucestershire County Council Conservatives has announced each councillor will have ?20,000 to fight potholes in their local areas, doubling the amount of last year?s allocation.
The money forms part of over ?5m of extra investment in roads above the existing agreed budget.
Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways, said: ?After a hard winter, the condition of Gloucestershire?s roads isn?t good enough. This money will help all councillors fix the problems in their area. By making decisions at a local level it will help us target the repairs that really matter to local people.?
