The huge hole, commonly known as the ‘crater field’ at Dollymans farms in Wickford has been granted permission to be filled in with inert waste by Essex County Council.
County Hall last week granted planning permission for the ‘importation, recycling and final disposal’ of the waste at Dollymans Farm, Wickford.
Chris Stanley has been working hard with Rayleigh Museum to relocate the airman’s memorial and has suggested in this article that this application is very shortsighted by Essex County Council, as alternative uses of this land could have been great for flooding relief and also the leisure industry.
