OUR RAYLEIGH TOWN COUNCIL CANDIDATES

Cllr James Newport
Sweyne Park

James is a seasoned campaigner and works closely with the local community on issues that really matter to them. He has been a member of the Town Council for the past 5 years giving a valuable contribution to the running of the Council dealing with such issues as community safety, policy and finance and planning matters. James has also provided his technical skills to the Council to advise on disaster recovery and reviewing their IT & telephone systems to provide value for money for the taxpayer.

Cllr Chris Stanley
Sweyne Park

The knowledge and experience that Chris has brought to the Council has been a key contribution to many of the event that the Council runs through the year. Chris is always on hand to offer his technical knowledge in the building and electrical field and has been frquently called on by the staff to advise. Chris handmade a flower barrow for the Anglia in Bloom competition which won a GOLD award. Chris has sat on the Environment, Planning and King George's committee during the 5 years he has been representing residents.

Cllr Bruce Smart
Sweyne Park

Many of the community will know Bruce along with his wife and is responsible for organising  the magnificant poppy display at Holy Trinity church. Bruce is always carrying out work within the community and he runs the very successful inter school quiz. Bruce offers a calm and reasoned challenge during Council debate and is incredibly well liked by many of his peers. He's a real community asset!


Craig Cannell
Grange

Craig has adopted Rayleigh as his hometown and has thrown himself into helping the community and he has frequently been seen helping residents during the pandemic with their shopping, fetching medication and even walking dogs! The enthusiasm and perspective Craig brings to the Council makes for an more inclusive and diverse representation of residents. His commitment and vigor has been frequently commented on by residents.
